On Thursday, 12th of September 2019, the 12th grade students of Abitur Grundkurs Chemistry visited Gläsernes Labor in Berlin Buch to conduct hands-on chemistry experiments dealing with the topics of pigments and colorants. They synthesized colorants that belong to different structural groups, such as AZO dyes, carbonyl dyes (Indigo), phtalocyanine dyes and methylene blue pH indicator. In addition, students were given the possibility to synthesize fluorescein, which they enjoyed very much due to its visual effect in UV light.
For their physics project on climate change the students of 6b organised a bake sale in order to raise funds for a climate-oriented charitable organisation.
The students brought homemade cakes and muffins, and also prepared fresh waffles and popcorn for the BCS Community to enjoy! In the end the students raised 432,05 EUR. Great job, 6b!
On Monday, 8th of July, the 2019 preschool graduating class of children and their teachers were honored at our annual preschool graduation ceremony held at St. Elisabeth-Kirche in Mitte.
