The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at Berlin Cosmopolitan School prepares our students for an interconnected, globalized world, that requires critical-thinking skills and a sense of international-mindedness.
It is designed as an academically challenging and balanced programme of education that prepares students for success at university and life beyond. The programme is normally taught over two years and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities. Students study six courses: three at higher level and three at standard level, ensuring breadth of experience in languages, social studies, the experimental sciences and mathematics. In addition, the programme has three core requirements (the extended essay, theory of knowledge and creativity, action, service) that are included to broaden the educational experience and challenge students to apply their knowledge and understanding.
Students take written examinations at the end of the programme, which are marked by external IB examiners and acknowledged by universities around the globe.
