Read onOn Tuesday, 23rd June, Berlin Cosmopolitan School had the honour of hosting a very special event: the official MINT-Botschafterinnen (STEM Ambassadors) recognition ceremony, organised by the national initiative ‘MINT Zukunft schaffen!’ (STEM Initiative – Creating the Future).
At this inspiring gathering, 22 new STEM Ambassadors from all over Germany were recognised for their outstanding commitment to advancing STEM education and inspiring young people. We are especially proud that two of these new ambassadors are from BCS:
Congratulations to Dr. Nataliya Karl, Assistant to the School Founder, who for nearly a decade has been the organisational heart behind BCS’s many outstanding STEM activities. As Project Leader, she has been tirelessly compiling, driving and communicating the work of our international STEM team to the outside world. Under her leadership, both our Primary School and Secondary School have been recognised three times in a row as a “MINT-freundliche Schule” (STEM-friendly School) and “Digitale Schule” (Digital School).
In her own words, Dr. Karl describes her mission as showing that „STEM is not just about numbers and formulas, but a vibrant and vital part of holistic education.” With great passion, she works to build bridges between STEM and other areas of the school, making STEM visible as a way of thinking that fosters soft skills, promotes networked thinking, and truly empowers young people.
We are equally proud to congratulate Kathrin Röschel, our Secondary Principal, who was also awarded the title MINT-Botschafterin. Ms. Röschel is deeply committed to integrating STEM topics and digital learning into a cohesive whole-school concept. „Ich setze mich mit großem Engagement für die Integration von MINT-Themen und eine Digitale Schule im Sinne eines Gesamtkonzeptes ein,“ she explains. (“I am passionately committed to integrating STEM topics and digital education as part of a holistic concept.”) She actively promotes interdisciplinary projects and supports innovative approaches to inspire children and young people to discover and love mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology.
During the ceremony, our VEX Robotics students impressed the guests by demonstrating not only their technical expertise, but also their remarkable ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly and enthusiastically.
We are incredibly proud to see the tireless efforts of our staff and students recognised at a national level. The commitment of Dr. Karl and Ms. Röschel is a testament to the spirit of teamwork, innovation and passion that defines STEM education at BCS.
Congratulations to our new MINT Ambassadors – and thank you for bringing STEM into so many minds and hearts!
