Save the Date

Save the Date: October 14th – Fundraiser for Lebrang School, Nepal

Berlin Cosmopolitan School is proud to be a "partner school" for United World Schools. Education transforms lives. United World Schools (UWS) works in some of the world's poorest regions to give every child access to free education. We partner with local communities and supporters around the world to teach the unreached.

BCS and the Lebrang Community School (Nepal) are now officially partnered. Our goal is to fundraise 9000€ in 2021, to provide all running costs for this school, located on the foothills of the Himalayas. The school was build by United World Schools a few years ago

IB CAS students and additional BCS secondary students are joining forces to develop and execute ideas for fundraising events that will be held throughout the year. We are very excited to start this outstanding project. With the Engagement of BCS students and the wider community, we are helping children to receive education, under circumstances that normally would prevent them from having any.

Berlin Cosmopolitan AIM Language Day – Spring 2021

After the success and positive feedback of the AIM Conference&Workshop for professionals in January 2020, the Berlin Cosmopolitan School presents research and learning results of this scientifically proven most successful foreign language learning method to all interested parties during the BCS AIM Day.

"Thanks to AIM, as a foreign language teacher I have all the tools to teach 99% of my lessons in the target language, and all students, not just me, the teacher who already has a command of the language, speak in the foreign language for 45 minutes in a 45-minute lesson. The method teaches students at a very early age to express themselves in long sentences while speaking freely, to have a high degree of accuracy in writing and above all to become confident and curious linguists who are not afraid to express themselves in another language". Carole Rivoire, AIM Teacher at the BCS.

On this day, professors of linguistics Dr. Audrey Rousse-Malpat and Dr. Wim Gombert (University of Groningen, Netherlands) will be our guests and present live for the first time in Germany their study on the Accelerative Integrated Methodology , which proves that learning outcomes are significantly better than in traditional foreign language teaching.

They are also project coordinators of Project Frans , a platform for teachers who want to switch to a more implicit language curriculum. They base their ideas and workshops on two main theories of language learning: the theory of dynamical systems and the applied theory.

Dr. Audrey Rousse-Malpat is Assistant Professor of Language Learning at the University of Groningen and lecturer of French within the program "European Languages and Cultures" at the same university.

Dr. Wim Gombert is a PhD student in Applied Linguistics at the University of Groningen and a certified (French) AIM teacher at Gomarus College (secondary school) in Groningen.

Together they have developed an extended version of AIM that can be used for higher levels.

Please address your questions and informal pre-registration (name/email/organization) to Mrs Nataliya Karl . You will receive a registration confirmation with all necessary information in due course. We are looking forward to meeting you!
