Grade 5a raises money for the Philippines

20th December, 2013

After the typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines in mid-November, our grade 5a students decided to take action. Thinking about ways to raise money, they came up with three different ideas: a raffle, a bake sale during the coffee morning, a sale of self-made bookmarks with a comic booklet, they wrote and drew themselves.

In only a few days, the students raised the incredible amount of over EUR 600. Minister and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy, Mr. Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, personally visited BCS on Tuesday, December 17, to accept the donation. Thank you Mr. Melicor, we appreciate your participation in this endeavour.

Well done Berlin Cosmopolitan School grade 5a’s, you showed a great sense of responsibility in helping people in need.
