8th Grade in Gläsernes Labor

22nd June, 2018

A few days ago (June 18-19), the 8th grade students had a unique opportunity to work as scientists in the laboratories of Gläsernes Labor in Berlin. They participated in the intense Chemistry workshop dealing with different methods to extract essential oils, which they subsequently used to prepare their own perfumes. The Biology workshop offered a great occasion to learn plenty about blood and heart.

Our students used a light microscope to observe blood cells and they carried out the experiments to find out how the different concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide affect blood color. In addition, a poultry heart dissection was conducted as a group activity.
