12th grade BCS students learned about research on Precision Medicine
12th grade BCS students of Leistungskurs Biology learned about the background and current research on Precision Medicine at the “Explore Precision Medicine” event at Futurium Berlin on October 9th, 2023, organized by e: Med Systems Medicine.
The students visited interactive exhibitions with virtual exhibits and practical experiments; they isolated their own DNA and could explore precision medicine in small groups with scientists. Scientists from German universities and Charite also presented their research. They explained how precision medicine works, how Big Data is collected and analyzed and how this data can be used to treat patients more specifically.
