The forest and us – a connection with a future

In recent years, the forest and nature have become the learning space and classroom for the Berlin Cosmopolitan School students and the kindergarten and preschool children. There, the children learn how to protect the forest and the climate. Our trips to the forest also inspire teachers and educators. As an innovative educational institution that looks to the future, we are establishing the forest and nature as a place of learning. 

Our kindergarten and preschool are particularly pleased to have received the “Waldkönner” award from the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Bundesverband e. V. (German Forest Protection Association). During the application process, we were able to show that the forest and the climate play supporting roles in the Berlin Cosmopolitan Preschool and Kindergarten. 

Through the programme “Die Waldkönner” we were awarded for our forest-climate pedagogical content, which we happily introduce into our daily routine. Every day we motivate our children to live sustainably with our environment. And because it’s such fun, we look forward to more trips into the countryside and hope to meet many mindful like-minded people there.
