3-Day Career Orientation and Life Skills Workshops

Our secondary students recently participated in 3-day career orientation and life skills workshops with the organization, “mehr als lernen”. These workshops took place for grades 7-11 over the last 5 weeks (grade 10 will take place in May).

The students looked on their strengths, competencies and explored concrete interests as well as the world of work at present and in the future.

Here is a summary of the workshops for each grade:

Grade 7 & 8 workshops took place 30.02-01.03 2022 

“Strengths and competencies: Who am I, what do I want and what can I do?” Topics: Team & communication skills as central skills and competencies in the professional and working world.

Grade 9 workshops took place 14-16.03.2022

Exploring the world of work: professions and courses of study, forms and types of work, and how to go about formulating initial career aspirations. Including, possible ways to achieve them (with consideration on the upcoming course selections they will be making for the upper secondary school at the start of next year).

Grade 10 workshops –coming up 09-11.05.20022

A look at the present and the future: What makes the working world tick and what does that mean for me? Team & communication skills as central skills and competencies in the professional and working world.

Exploring one’s own concrete interests, strengths and wishes as a basis for career, study and future life orientation.

Grade 11 workshops took place 02-4.02.2022

Continuing to explore their own concrete interests, strengths and goals as a basis for career, study and future orientation.

They also explored the adult world of bureaucracy- with a look at financing one’s studies (part-time jobs, scholarships), your first own apartment, taxes, insurances and more.
