The Cosmopolitan #5/2026: Politics, Perspectives and Strong Student Voices
The fifth 2026 edition of our student newspaper The Cosmopolitan is here, with political and social issues taking centre stage
Beginning with the U16 election at BCS, the editorial team explores how young people vote and how the school’s results compare with Berlin as a whole. Interviews, surveys, and background articles present different political perspectives and examine some of the questions currently occupying our students.
Beyond politics, the new edition once again brings together a wide range of journalistic formats. One essay connects Star Trek with social questions and visions of a more hopeful future, while an extensive café guide reviews places around BCS. Personal commentary, creative writing, and a new Teacher Spotlight featuring Robert O’Leary complete the issue.
The latest edition once again demonstrates the variety of student journalism at BCS: researched, critical, personal, and sometimes deliberately provocative. The Cosmopolitan creates space for different perspectives, discussion, and independent thinking.
Congratulations to the entire editorial team on another diverse edition, and we hope everyone enjoys reading it.
