Primary Sports Day 2025: Movement, Team Spirit and Medals in Berlin Mitte
Primary Sports Day 2025: Movement, Team Spirit and Medals in Berlin Mitte
On Monday, June 2, the Berlin Cosmopolitan School community came together for its annual Primary Sports Day, held at the Berolina Soccer-Field in Mitte. With bright skies, bursts of sunshine, and a few light raindrops during the final ceremony, the day brought out the best in our students—from Grade 1 to Grade 5.
The morning began with great anticipation as class captains guided their classmates onto the field, all dressed in the school’s signature light blue sports shirts and navy pants. Spirits were high, and the excitement was palpable as students rotated through eight active and engaging stations: sprints, long jump, sack races, rope jumping, long throw, dribble parcours, juggling, and flexibility exercises.
With short breaks, healthy snacks, and plenty of encouragement, students gave their all—showing not only athletic ability but also fairness, cooperation, and resilience. Laughter echoed across the field, and many students discovered new strengths in unexpected activities. Teachers, fully involved and in sports attire themselves, supported the event as captains, instructors, and cheerleaders.
After a tasty lunch of hotdogs and wraps served right at the field, the community gathered for the much-anticipated Prize-Winning Ceremony. As a light drizzle began to fall, it only added to the festive atmosphere. Students and teachers cheered as gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded—not only for physical performance but also for social skills, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. One class was proudly awarded the Wanderpokal, our annual trophy for the most outstanding class performance over the school year.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the day a success—from our Sportsteachers and support staff to the students who showed dedication and enthusiasm at every turn. And of course, thanks to the parents who supported the event and to the Berlin weather for staying kind—until the very last medal was awarded.
The Primary Sports Day was a joyful celebration of energy, effort, and togetherness and we are already looking forward to Sports Day 2026!
