newly relaunched school library
Welcome to our newly relaunched school library, a vibrant and dynamic space thoughtfully designed to ignite curiosity and cultivate a love of reading among our students. Our library has undergone a complete transformation, with collections meticulously organized by genre to enhance your exploration of diverse and challenging subjects.
This year, we invite you to join us for an exciting lineup of literary programs that blend international celebrations with engaging activities tailored to various reading interests.
In February, we will kick off with a “Blind Date with a Book,” featuring mystery-wrapped volumes waiting to be uncovered, accompanied by a reading “match-making” station and a board for book reviews.
March will immerse us in detective literature during “Murder Mystery Month,” where creative writing contests, captivating mystery displays, and clue-finding activities abound.
As we celebrate April’s “Poetry Month,” students can explore their creativity at our poetry writing station, engage with a multilingual poetry display, and enjoy simple poetry activities in the inviting “Poet’s Corner.”
May brings “International Book Week,” where we will showcase books from around the globe, create a multilingual reading corner, and offer cultural recommendations that broaden perspectives.
In June, we will launch our “Summer Reading Challenge,” inviting students to embark on adventurous literary pursuits with curated book recommendations and a travel literature display. September will shine a light on the importance of free expression during “Banned Books Awareness” month, featuring an interactive display that encourages thoughtful discussion on censorship.
In October, we will honor “LGBTQ+ History Month” with engaging displays that celebrate diversity in literature and the contributions of LGBTQ+ authors. November will focus on “Science Week,” merging literature with discovery through themed displays, simple science experiments, and an exhibition highlighting notable scientists throughout history.
Finally, as the year comes to a close, we will celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve” in December and January, offering a space for reflection on reading goals, a display of the best reads of the year, and the launch of our winter reading challenge.
We cannot wait for you to explore our restructured library, adorned with beautiful decorations and equipped with spaces designed for learning and collaboration. All this would not have been possible without the great support of Mirjam Compeyron. Join us as we embark on this literary journey together; your reading adventures await.
