Cosmo Students Represent Ukraine at BALMUN 2025

27th May, 2025

This weekend, six students from Berlin Cosmopolitan School — Kayleigh, Henri, Bernhard, Bennett, Martha, and Fares—had the opportunity to step into the shoes of diplomats as they represented Ukraine at this year’s Baltic Model United Nations (BALMUN) conference in Rostock.
The theme of the conference, “Questioning and Qualifying the Education of Future Generations,” invited participants from across Europe to engage in thoughtful debates about how education systems must evolve to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.
Representing Ukraine at this moment in history carries particular significance. Our young Model United Nations delegates showcased remarkable maturity, exceptional global awareness, and a deep commitment to the United Nations’ core values of peace, diplomacy, and international understanding.
Henri opened the weekend with a powerful Ambassador’s speech, setting the tone for a delegation that was well-informed, articulate, and passionate throughout the sessions.

Beyond the committee rooms, BALMUN also fostered friendship and intercultural exchange. One of the highlights was a friendly football match with students from the John F. Kennedy School (JFKS) at Warnemünde — an afternoon that perfectly reflected the spirit of cooperation and connection between our two schools’ students and directors.
We are proud of our students for representing Berlin Cosmopolitan School and Ukraine with such integrity, empathy, and purpose on the international stage.
A big thank you to the BALMUN organizers for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience.
