Exploring Futures: Career Day at Berlin Cosmopolitan School
At Berlin Cosmopolitan School, preparing students for life beyond the classroom is part of everyday learning — and Career Day, organised by the Friends of Cosmo, brings that vision to life in the best possible way.
This year’s event gave students from Grades 9 to 11 the chance to connect directly with inspiring speakers and more than 25 parent experts from fields like media, tech, business, health, and the arts. To keep things fair and focused, each student signed up for specific workshops in advance — with attendance checked so that everyone had a seat at the table.
The day kicked off on the Main Stage, where Head of School Yvonne Wende welcomed everyone. Experts from diverse backgrounds — from CEOs and business developers to journalists, communication professionals, researchers, and scientists — set the tone with motivating insights and honest stories about the unexpected twists and turns that shaped their careers.
Later, students returned to the Main Stage to hear from speakers working in healthcare, media, finance, and entertainment — each showing in their own way how surprising, challenging, and rewarding a career path can be.
Between the Main Stage talks, students joined smaller Career Tracks with our parent experts. In lively ‘Career Speed Dating’ rounds, they asked quick-fire questions and got a taste of different industries and life stories. Afterwards, they chose which guests to revisit for deeper conversations — discovering new ideas and unexpected possibilities for their own futures.
One message echoed throughout the day: a career can never be mapped out in advance. There will always be surprises, crossroads, and fresh opportunities — and that’s something to embrace.
Thanks to the Friends of Cosmo, our dedicated teachers, inspiring speakers, supportive parents, and our ever-curious students, Career Day once again sparked ideas and opened minds. We can’t wait to see where this inspiration will lead next!
