Brainy, Bold, and Border-Savvy: 10th Annual BCS Geography Bee Crowns Its Champions

14th May, 2025

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the assembly hall at Berlin Cosmopolitan School turned into a lively arena of maps, flags, and applause as the 10th annual BCS Geography Bee brought students from Grades 6 to 10 together for a spirited showdown of geographic knowledge.

Over the past few weeks, social studies classes had been buzzing with anticipation. After rounds of in-class prep and quizzes, two top performers from each class were selected to represent their peers in the school-wide competition. The result? A diverse and dynamic group of 20 contestants ready to take on the world—literally.

With classmates cheering from the audience and playing along from their seats, the finalists faced a tough series of questions covering:

  • Major cities and federal states of Germany
  • European countries and capitals
  • Countries and capitals across North, Central, and South America

The tension mounted as round after round, students showcased their sharp minds and quick recall. In the end, three emerged at the top, each earning a geography-themed prize and well-deserved bragging rights:

🥇 1st Place: Guy Talmi (9b)
🥈 2nd Place: Charlotte Yang (8b)
🥉 3rd Place: Radu Falcoianu (10a)
