Looking Back: Our 2025 Summer Show — A Celebration for the Senses and 20 Years of BCS!
On June 21, 2025, we didn’t just celebrate the arrival of summer — we also marked a very special milestone:
20 years of Berlin Cosmopolitan School. On our beautiful Nature Campus, our students, teachers, families and friends transformed the day into a colourful festival of music, dance, art and community spirit.
From 1 p.m. onwards, our youngest children from the kindergarten charmed the audience in the first block: with dancing fairies and cheerful choreographies to Bunni Groove, Baiana, Canopee and The Spark, the children conquered the stage with their joy and energy.
The second part not only looked back on 20 years of BCS but also showcased impressive variety: the Junior Performance Class took us on a magical journey with a Mary Poppins Medley, our 12th-grade graduates performed their symbolic Our Last Dance, and the orchestras Arco and Brio filled the air with festive pieces like Main Street March, Pepparoni Pizza Party Rock and Kol-Dodi. The Blue Lotus Company turned the stage into a “Berlinchella” with a vibrant Lady Gaga medley, while our Zumba group kept the summer vibe alive with Agua.
The second block in the afternoon offered even more musical diversity: from classical ballet pieces like Tarantella d´alcantara and Country Gardens to lively jazz and tap performances including Black Bottom, One and Gartenzeit. Highlights included the Jazz Ensemble with Caravan and Ballad, a surprise performance by Pavlovic with Guantanamera, and the powerful sounds of the Concert Band and BCS Symphoria, who took everyone on a musical journey together.
The final block kept spirits high: the Cosmo Philharmonic delivered a magnificent finale with Golden Hour and Vivaldi’s Summer. Our Hip Hop groups, Commercial Dance and Zumba brought the day to a thrilling close with performances like Feliz Cumpleaños BCS, Rockstar, AM TO PM and the spectacular Fire and Water Show.

A very special moment of the day was when our school founder, Yvonne Wende, honoured two dedicated colleagues who have been part of BCS since its very beginning: dance teacher and Head of the Dance Department Anita Kreft, and music teacher Yasser Mokhtar, were recognised for their 20 years of dedication, passion and for helping make the performing arts at BCS so exceptional.
Lovingly prepared food stalls in the beer garden kept everyone energised throughout the day, while those seeking a creative break could explore the virtual art exhibition curated by our Art Department.
The 2025 Summer Show was a vivid testament to the creativity, diversity and sense of community that define our school. It was a day full of laughter, applause and special moments that showed exactly what Berlin Cosmopolitan School has stood for over the past two decades.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all contributors, helpers, teachers, artists — and of course, to our students, who made this day so special.
We are already looking forward to many more celebrations and memories together. Here’s to the next 20 years!
