Exploring French Culture: 9th Graders’ Trip to Nice

13th March, 2025

From January 31 to February 7, 22 French students from the 9th grade of Berlin Cosmopolitan School embarked on an unforgettable class trip to Nice, immersing themselves in French culture, language, and history.

One of the highlights of the trip was a cooking workshop, where students had the chance to prepare and taste traditional Niçoise specialties—a delicious way to experience the local culture firsthand.

Another key moment was the school exchange with students from Collège Saint-Barthélémy, fostering Franco-German friendships through classroom discussions, shared break times, and engaging activities celebrating the bonds between the two countries.

Beyond these experiences, the students explored the Matisse Museum, the Lazaret Caves, and the Fragonard perfume laboratory in Èze.

A day trip to Cannes with a paper chase in the city center and an excursion to Sainte-Marguerite Island further enriched their journey.

In the evenings, the group enjoyed walks through Nice and even attended a basketball game between Nice and Toulouse.

Throughout the trip, our students demonstrated motivation, curiosity, and enthusiasm, making the most of every opportunity to speak French, engage with local culture, and create lasting memories.

The Collège Saint-Barthélémy was equally excited about this enriching exchange and even published an article about the visit on their website! You can read it here.

This experience was a testament to the power of language learning through real-life experiences—a cornerstone of the international education at Berlin Cosmopolitan School.
