A Joyful Start: Our First Primary Assembly of the School Year

This week, our primary students gathered in the school’s backyard for their very first assembly of the year. Led by Primary Principal Katharina Ehrenfried, the morning was filled with laughter, music, and a strong sense of community.
Together, the children joined in fun call-and-response games, greeted each other in many different languages, and sang songs that created a wonderful feeling of togetherness. Katharina introduced herself as the new primary principal, shared a little about her first days at BCS, and warmly welcomed both new and returning students.
The assembly was also a moment to share important reminders: our Forest Days will continue in A- and B-weeks, school clothing is part of our daily routine, and in Primary, smartphones and smartwatches stay in the locker. Most importantly, everyone was reminded that kindness is at the heart of our school life.
Looking ahead, students were excited to hear about this year’s class trips and the chance to get involved in the Student Council. Katharina encouraged all children to take part and even to speak at future assemblies.
With a big smile, she closed the gathering: “You did great – a fantastic first week!” It was the perfect start to a school year full of learning, joy, and shared adventures at BCS.
