Units of Inquiry: Start of new Unit

We are starting our new Units of Inquiry: In Kindergarten 1 we are starting a new topic, "Things that go". We will be finding out about planes, trains, boats, bikes and other modes of transport. We will find out what they are used for and what makes them go. In Kindergarten 2: "Materials have a wide variety of characteristics and can be used in diverse contexts". We will find out what things are made out of and where these materials come from. We will think about why materials are suited to certain purposes; what they look, feel, smell and sound like, and how we can look after our planet by re-using materials. In Preschool: "Ideas and emotions can be expressed through various forms of art". We will have lots of fun expressing ourselves in different ways, and experiencing many different kinds of art. We will think about how our choice of art-form influences the message we send.
