About Cosmo for Future:

After a brief hiatus,  Cosmo for Future restarted in October 2021 with some familiar, but also a lot of new faces. We elected a new steering committee, which has guided our organisation of a workshop for ‘climate guardians’ (a volunteer from each class that pledges to keep an eye on classroom energy usage), as well as putting up instructions for saving energy in every classroom. Additionally, we raised money and spread awareness with another round of Cosmo for Future t-shirt printing and started an Instagram campaign for sustainable living.

We have big things in store for 2022 though, as currently we have three working groups organising for: an exhibition of our students’ carbon footprint; a climate congress of international schools’ environmental clubs; and finally a climate action week, in which we hope to have guest speakers, environmental topics covered in lessons, as well as a virtual assembly in order to present, among other things, the two previously mentioned projects. For those interested in getting involved, just come to room 302 at 1:30pm on Tuesdays or write to: !

Berlin Cosmopolitan School becomes climate neutral

We are now working intensively on the topic of corporate CO2 footprints together with the company Planetly, which specializes in CO2 management. We would like to create transparency about our own CO2 emissions, then reduce them and offset them where necessary in order to finally make a contribution to climate protection as a climate-neutral company.

“On the one hand, we have to collect data on our CO2 emissions and then reduce them. On the other hand, we want to use this project to educate all students about active climate protection and motivate them to get involved,” says Yvonne Wende, founder and director of the Berlin Cosmopolitan School.
