In this developmental stage a child can learn a second language 8 times faster than an adult! It’s easier than you think. Hundreds of words are the same in both English and Spanish. Animal, hospital, actor, color and doctor mean the same things in English and Spanish; they are just pronounced a little differently. For English speaking children there is no easier second language to learn than Spanish. Learning Spanish, playing and having fun, with music, stories, painting, crafts and so on.
*** Spanish for Parents & Staff

The adventure playground ‘Stadt der Kinder’ is a hidden treasure and situated close to Berlin Cosmopolitan School. It is a great place for our energetic students after a long school day. They love to create their own worlds within the park and can take part in a wide range of available activities like climbing on huts and rooftops, hiding in the tree house, taking care of the guinea pigs and rabbits, using the inside facilities in case of bad weather for board games, woodworking, feeding animals, working with clay, playing hide and seek, exploring the area, and doing arts and crafts.

“Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you to board game club! In our club we will play long rounds of interesting games such as ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ and ‘Legends of Andor’. We will not play short rounds. Long and intense games might seem a little much, but I am sure, you will enjoy the rounds. We want to bring people together through the experience of a board game so this will be a very social club. I hope to see you there!” (Egor Lührs)

They will use regional ingredients to prepare simple but tasty meals. And what do a bunch of great chefs do when they are done with cooking? They sit together and enjoy what they just have prepared!

Happy Club (Love Yourself)
‘Love Yourself’ is a merge of our beloved Happy club and Wellness & Beauty club, focusing on self love and self care. — The answer to the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is so simple: “I want to be HAPPY!” There is a science about how to be a happy and healthy person. Scientists like Dr. Roger Walsh have asked the question: “What does it mean to live wisely and well?” Happy club is based on the answers to that question: The practice of eight things that a person needs in life to be happy and healthy. These eight things are: Exercise, diet and nutrition, spending time in the nature, contribution and service, relationships, recreation, relaxation and stress management, and religion and spirituality. We will have a great time together practicing being happy through various projects that nurture a healthy self-esteem and positive self-image. Always be good to yourself and one another!
Lego
In Lego I+II students will build miniature models with different themes. They can invent their own models and explore the variety of building with Lego bricks.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is about accepting the present moment, rather than focusing on the past or future. Students will be in a space that allows for weekly practice of mindfulness meditation along with discussions on mindfulness and how to be mindful everywhere, anywhere. Mindfulness is a tool to deal with stress and anxiety. Simple breathing can help students’ response to things that happen rather than react impulsively. The end goal if any is to be more happy and at peace with one’s self. No previous experience needed, all are welcome!

The Real World
The school curriculum provides you with the knowledge and tools you need later on in life, but usually some questions stay unanswered. We will cover topics of how to deal with life – the real life in the real world.
