The last and extremely interesting event of our Gründerwoche was a huge success. The patent law firm, Niepelt Patentanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, met with grade 9 and 10 students to work on concepts to enhance the sustainability of our cafeteria. Our students will present the results to our Director, Ms. Yvonne Wende, and our kitchen staff shortly and discuss how to implement the results short and long term.

A big thank you to our Economy teacher, Ms. Diana Wakeford, for the amazing organization of this event.

On Friday the 22nd and Monday the 25th of November, in cooperation with the Berlin Senate and MUTZ Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, the Cosmo for Future club learned how to use a variety of devices to measure heating and lighting efficiency as well as the CO² content in the air. Together with heating engineer G. Rodriguez, students explored the school from top to bottom and discussed concrete ways in which the school could be made more energy efficient, and thereby climate friendly.

The Hot Topic Club filmed during both days and is assembling a reportage to be shown to the whole school during an upcoming assembly on the 17th of December. Keep up to date on our activities with our new Cosmo for Future blog:

Today, our grade 9 and 10 students could apply their language skills at Expolingua Berlin. Visiting numerous stalls and investigating about options for language schools and international student exchanges, the students were impressed by the huge number of organisations and opportunities.

Every year, our Economy Department organizes a “Gründerwoche” following the Germany wide initiative by the Federal Ministery for Economy and Energy.

Our students decided to focus on “Sustainable Enterprises” to have a better understanding of how the owners transformed their initial passion into a successful business.
Today, our students met with the owner of Bio Bettwäsche discussing their business concept and to design their own collection of bedding.

Thank you, Ms. Wood, for this successful workshop.
