Sciences
The curriculum in the sciences invites students to engage in disciplined observation and thoughtful analysis, the basis upon which clear scientific understandings are built. More importantly it provides opportunities for students to indulge their natural curiosity and experience the exhilaration, frustration and ultimate realisation of scientific and technological discovery. Students are required to understand and adopt scientific ways of questioning, thinking and problem solving.
Our state of the art science lab is fully equipped to carry out experiments in all three sciences. Particular favourites with the students include work with bunsen burners, microscopes, ray boxes and electrical circuits.
Excursions to science and technology related locations enrich the programme at BCS. Students of our secondary school regularly visit:
- Exploratorium in Potsdam
- Gläsernes Labor in Berlin Buch
- Ökowerk in Berlin Grunewald
- Bayer Laboratory in our neighbourhood
Interactive Smart boards in all classrooms as well as working in our Computer Lab are a part of the daily routine at BCS. This ensures the continuous development of media competencies.
