At the Berlin Cosmopolitan School, the aim of German instruction is to provide personalised, differentiated and transdisciplinary access to the subject’s broad content base. Consistent with this aim, we nurture every individual pupil within cooperative learning models and ensure that each individual learner is encouraged through differentiated and methodically varied teaching.

The goal of our work is to accompany your children on their path to becoming confident and communicative adults by teaching technical knowledge and abilities, as well as methodological skills.

In our classrooms, students learn German by taking a differentiated approach to various texts and media. We attach great importance to ensuring that the topics addressed in the selected texts and media are age-appropriate and relevant to the concrete experiences, interests and the environment of the learners. By reading contemporary and traditional works of German literature and plot and production-oriented discussion in small groups, we raise students’ awareness about existing literary traditions and stimulate their interest in modern literature.

Special priority is also given to teaching grammar, spelling and punctuation rules; targeted vocabulary work is also an integral part of our German lessons.
